Home of Lin-ay Kang Antique 2023: Pride of every Barbazeños

Antique is well known for its tagline "Where Mountains Meet the Sea". Indeed, it is! Antique is composed of 18 municipalities, and Barbaza is located in its central part. Barbaza was categorized as a 4th class municipality.

 

Barbaza celebrates its annual festival called KABUGANAAN FESTIVAL every March. KABUGANAAN derives from the Kinaray-a (local dialect) word "BUGANA NGA GRASYA". BUGNA means overflowing and GRASYA means blessings from God Almighty. 

 

Recently, Barbaza celebrated its 6th Kabuganaan Festival. As an OFW, I suddenly felt homesick. Yes! you're right! Barbaza is my home town. My compliments to WOW Barbaza for making it possible for us to enjoy those amazing activities and performances.

Let me share some of our Kabuganaan Festival's annual activities with you.

 Mass Wedding Ceremony is already a yearly activity during the celebration of the Kabuganaan Festival.

 

Karsadyahan Contest

Karsadyahan is a local term for street dancing. Each competing cluster has its own theme featuring how blessed Barbaza is in terms of its people and resources. Kruhay Barbaza!

  The involvement of non-government organizations in Barbaza is highly significant. The Barbaza Multi-Purpose Cooperative is indeed a great help to all Barbazenos, providing various services to its member-owners and engaging in valuable social services for the community.

The most awaited part of this celebration is the search for the next Lin-ay Kang Kabuganaan 2024. But before that, I just want to brag about the achievement of Miss Michelle Anne Solidarios Juanitas for bringing the first-ever crown as Lin-ay Kang Antique 2023 to my beloved hometown, Barbaza. My congratulations to you for making history for the next generation. 

 

To our newly crowned Lin-ay Kang Kabuganaan 2024, well done! You deserve it. 

To all the organizers of this 2024 Kabuganaan Festival, I salute you for these amazing activities.
