Bucari is one of the mountain barangays in Leon, Iloilo. Bucari is considered as the "Little Baguio of Iloilo," due to its cool climate and pine-clad landscapes.

In addition, the municipality of Leon is the hometown of Miss Alexie Mae Caimoso Brooks, who was crowned as Miss Iloilo during the celebrated 2024 Dinagyang Festival in Iloilo and represented Iloilo in the upcoming Miss Universe Philippines 2024.

How to get there

From Iloilo City, you can take a jeepney or a modern bus from Robinsons Pavia Terminal or Vista Mall Terminal with a sign for Leon until you reach the municipal plaza of Leon. Then, you have the option to ride a habal-habal or a jeepney to Bucari Campsite. If you choose to ride a habal-habal, the estimated fare is Php 300-500 for a round trip. If you take a jeepney, it is around Php 50-100 one way. You also have the option to bring your own private car. However, a 4x4 vehicle is recommended due to rough roads, sometimes sticky soil when it rains, and the steep, sloping terrain going to Brgy. Bucari. Moreover, if you are planning your trip to Bucari, you should prepare yourself for extremely rough rides but enjoy its fascinating beauty.
